I think I've expressed before how much I hate the way the R&B music has taken over everything else. I mean, why don't we all make a bunch of random moans and shrieks, autotune it and add lots of techno to it? [Yes, I'm talking to you, Ke$ha]. Maybe it would actually sound good if we could actually hear what they're saying [Yep, Lady Gaga]. Anyway so I finally got fed up with this kind of music and started listening to other genres, namely, Pop/Rock and Hot Alternative. Now, my music taste is completely different from what it was before. So here's a list of my 'new' favourites.

1. The Script

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think everyone knows how much I love them, If you didn't, now you do. 

A little background info: 

They're an Irish alternative rock band from Dublin. Based in London, after signing to Sony Label Group. Their songs have featured in video games and T.V shows like 90210, The Hills, EastEnders and The Vampire Diaries.

Band Member: Danny O'Donoghue [vocalist] <333333333, Glen Power [drummer] and Mark Sheehan [guitarist].

2. 3 Doors Down

Background info: American rock band from Escatawpa, Mississippi, formed in 1996. They often perform more than 300 concerts in a year. 

Band Members: Brad Arnold [lead vocalist], Matt Roberts [guitarist/ backing vocalist], Chris Henderson [rhythm guitarist], Todd Harrell [bass guitarist] and Greg Upchurch [drums, percussion].

3. Owl City

Okay who doesn't love Adam? Ohh you better hide! If you don't like Adam, you are not my friend. Do not show me your face ever again!

Owl City is described as an American elecrtonica musical project by singer-songwriter Adam Young. It was formed in 2007 in Owatonna, Minnesota. He gained popularity with his debut album Ocean Eyes hit single Fireflies.

Current touring members: Breanne Duren [you have to listen to this girl, she has an enchanting voice], Daniel Jorgensen, Laura Musten, Hanna Schroeder and Casey Brown. I'm too lazy to mention what they play, sorry.

My favourite songs: Fireflies, The Saltwater Room, Dental Care, Deer in the Headlights, Enchanted, Sunburn,  Hot Air Balloon, Vanilla Twilight, Cave In and Lonely Lullaby. Sunburn is the theme song for 90210

4. Maroon 5

At first I was kind of annoyed with their whole jazzy music but then after listening to She Will Be loved, started really loving this band. And of course, there's Adam Levine!

Background info: American pop rock band from Los Angeles, CA. While they were in high school, four of the members formed a garage band called Kara's Flowers and released one album in 1997. After a brief period, they reformed with guitarist James Valentine. The next year they released their debut album Songs About Jane with the four hit singles, Harder To Breathe, This Love, She Will Be Loved and Sunday Morning. 

Band Members: Adam Levine [lead vocalist, rhythm guitar], Jesse Carmichael [keyboards, rhythm guitar, backing vocals], Mickey Madden [bass guitar], James Valentine [lead guitar, backing vocals] and Matt Flynn [drums, percussion]. 

My favourite songs: She Will Be Loved, Secret, Hands All Over, Misery, This Love, Harder To Breathe, Won't Go Home Without You, Makes Me Wonder

5. One Republic

Like most of you'll, I didn't know about this band until 'Apologize' featuring Timbaland. 

Background Info: American rock band from Colorado Springs. Their songs Apologize made radio history when it received the largest amount of airplay in history, with 10, 331 plays in just a week. 

Band Members: Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkins, Drew Brown, Eddie Fisher and Brent Kutzle

6. Train

Hey, Soul Sister <3

Background Info: American rock band from San Fransisco, CA, formed in 1994. 

Band Members: Patrick Monahan [lead vocalist, harmonica], Jimmy Stafford [guitarist, backing vocalist] and Scott Underwood [drummer, percussion].

My favourite songs: Hey, Soul Sister, Marry Me, When I Look To The Sky

7. Summertime's End

Summertime's End is actually like Owl City- a one-man band. I'm pretty sure you've never heard of this band, though. The music is somewhat like Owl City, too. It's not famous so that's why I can't get many pictures nor background info.
