How our music evolves with us
As we grow older our taste in everything changes. It could be clothes, food or the kind if books we like read. One of these changes is music. Most of us weren't into music for like the first two to three years of school. But when we did start listening in around the third to fourth grade, our music taste mostly depended on television. Whoever we saw on Disney was our favourite singer. First there was the regretful choice of Miley Cyrus and then Selena Gomez. But here's the thing: forget Miley but Selena's music is still good. But why did we stop listening to it? I remember in 4th grade, Berry and I were obsessed with Selena's 'Fly to your heart' (find out name) because the video was good but at that age this kind of music made us happy.

Then came the R&B year of my life: 5th grade. This year all most of us listened to was whatever that's was topping the charts. Yes they were very good but there was another reason why I was listening to these songs. It was because sometimes I could relate, sometimes I would want to feel like that and sometimes it was just because I liked the tune. Most of the songs I loved in 5th, I still listen to.

Now here we are for the actual music year of my life: 6th. I still like R&B but though I did like the chart-topping numbers, I discovered songs by myself. People try to be cool by listening to artists who are famous and all the craze right now but I started to listen to music for ME. Songs that make me happy, songs that make me wanna tap my feet and songs that I can relate to.

I admire people who weren't drawn into the R&B like the rest of us were. There are some beautiful songs out there composed by such talented people but hardly any of these artists are discovered for their talent because everyone is too busy watching R&B singers in the limelight. I admire people who listen to REAL music like Green Day and Linkin Park and Cold Play.
We learn so many things from music.  Fair to say my life wouldn't be complete without music.
