Pliny [Roman author/naturalist/philosopher] recorded that the Greeks and Romans used peppermint to flavour sauces and wines. Sprays of peppermint adorned their tables. Peppermint oil and tea is also the cure for toothaches, indigestion and colds and flu.
Candy canes are flavoured by peppermint. The "hook" shape of the candy cane comes from Germany, when a choirmaster bent candy sticks into canes to represent shepherd's hook.
Mocha is simply coffee with chocolate flavouring. They get their name from the Red Sea coastal town of Mocha, Yemen.
When these two delicious ...erm..things [sorry for my unimaginative-ness] are bought together they form something that sounds and tastes wonderful [and a Starbucks mocha]. There's something really comforting about Peppermint Mochas and I think they're the perfect beverage and words to describe my blog. My blog will be full of stuff that comforts me and makes me happy and warm. I know that sounds quite cheesy but whatever, it's my blog and I'm allowed to be cheesy!
